Global warming is happening faster than you think

Global warming is an issue that is known but not many people intervene to stop it. The U.S government has formed agencies like the Environmental Protection Agency but the government is also releasing 47,000,000 metric tons of Carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. But now something needs to happen, because climate change is at an all time high..

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association has stated “2020 was the second-warmest year on record based on NOAA’s temperature data, and land areas were record warm.” and the effects that come from this weather have gotten more and more severe . Average summer temperatures in California have risen 3 degrees fahrenheit and are expected to increase in temperature in the near future.

These causes have been happening for decades like the burning of fossil fuels which creates greenhouse gasses. Human civilization has raised atmospheric carbon levels to almost double the amount of carbon dioxide and not just because of cars it’s because cattle releasing methane gas, deforestation and the manufacturing of goods and the generation of power.

The effects that scientists have predicted in the past are now coming true like “loss of sea ice, accelerated sea level rise and longer, more intense heat waves.” Nasa has stated. The effects of major countries like China, United States and India just to name a few, have caused “irreversibledamage to the planet that will worsen over the years.  Ms. Deandrea, a school science teacher stated “The water will rise, and there will be no land left…” if nothing is done. Although the effects won’t be seen as intense this summer, in a few years the world will look completely different.
