Vanden High School had an amazing ’22 season for girls varsity volleyball. The end of the season came rushing by; the girls dusted their hands off after long months of hard work. Out of the 30 games the girls had a grand total of 17 wins.

The first game took place on August 30th against Vacaville Christian School. We started the season off with a win 3-0. Summerlyn Spencer, Jada Cuffie, and Francesca King put in outstanding work and were the MVP’S for this game.

Every year our volleyball team has been successful. Specifically in this season Anaya thrower #11 has had the most kills per set, the highest hitting percentage, and total blocks. In addition she has already received an offer from the University of Oregon!

The girls’ effort from the season got attention from many peers, including Athletic Director Sean Murphy: “You can see that they put in — a lot of effort, and they play very hard.”

After a long season of hard work the girls headed to the playoffs. On October 25, 2022, the girls played in their first playoff game here at Vanden against Lincoln High School. The girls ended up falling just short, but they played well and with a lot of heart.
