Art. What is art? According to the dictionary, art is a diverse range of human activities in creating visual, auditory or performing artifacts, expressing the author’s imaginative, conceptual ideas, or technical skill, intended to be appreciated for their beauty or emotional power. But art is so much more.

Art allows anyone to express their inner emotions and feelings without having to use words. They express these feelings in what they create. Many forms of art consist of drawing, sculpting, painting, and so much more.

Inside the classroom of F1-1, Art1 students work diligently to make a variety of projects assigned by their teacher: Ms.Virzera. During the month of January, students worked on a project called a Mandala. A mandala is a geometric figure that represents the universe. Every color in Mandala contains meaning. For example, white represents peace and contemplation while blue signifies healing and wisdom. However, the students created their mandalas based of something that they endeared.

Background

In order to craft their Mandala’s, students were given a few materials such as paper, rulers, compasses, and colored pencils. They hadabout two weeks to complete their Mandalas. Each student had a sketchbook to help get an idea on what to draw, then the rest was up to them.
